Shibusa Shop

The Shibusa Shop is now closed, this wasn't a hard decision for me to be honest, the main factor being that since the shop was burgled on the 1st January, I have been battling with the council on a number of "items"...

These "items" were never sorted out by the council, and as being burgled was not something I enjoyed, I decided enough is enough and handed in the notice on the shop.

It is such a shame, Byram Arcade is still my favourite place in Huddersfield, I don't want to go to a generic shopping centre and buy the same things I can in any town, I am shocked other people do as well...

A big thankyou to all of the customers of the shop, old and new, thankyou for all the lovely comments and for the chance to meet you all.

The business will again be run from my house (a slightly larger house now, with a bit more space for Shibusa - which was the reason why I moved out in the first place) and will continue to offer everything which was in the shop, quirky items and cool stuff, home dressing, hand made curtains and blinds, furniture, wallpaper and pretty much the single item/full design service that has been offered all along, if you see something you like send me an email and I will try and source it for you.

Ta Daaaaaaa

The reason that all has been quiet on the Shibusa front is because I have been building a snazzy new, online shop/website with pretty stuff in it...

There is a 20% discount using the code LAUNCH

Please offer feedback, helpful advice and stuff Iv messed up and I will send presents to people who are helpful using the names in a hat idea - email info@shibusainteriors.co.uk

thanks xx

Interiors 2011 and where did January go?

We popped along to Interiors 2011 at the NEC, in Birmingham by train, which was novel (read scary) as we go everywhere by car usually. We had a few changes on the way there (to get the cheapest price!) and got to the show around 10:30am and started to have a little wander around.

We said hello to Dexter at Febland and thanked him for his help over the past few weeks, and looked around the stalls. There wasn't really anything new or exciting to speak of which disappointed us slightly, with the exception of the Designers Block section, which was full of brilliant new things for us to see, my favourite was Daniel Heath's Amazing Jumbo Circus Style Wallpaper, and I would love to stock it in the shop, perhaps should actually speak to him about that!

We also liked everything else in that section as it was, just, more interesting than the rest of the show (sorry everyone)

We then popped along to the Hospitality Show which was on at the same time, which was quite nice as they seemed to have much more free cake (cake always wins with us!)

We were around 3 hours early for our train home and decided not to wait as our feet were killing so we asked for an earlier train, £28.80 extra each to get back, funny that £10.00 of that was an "admin" charge, shame on you train companies, we wont be catching the train again as you ripped us off royally, it costing nearly £150 to get from Huddersfield to Birmingham! It usually costs around £30 in petrol, sums dont really add up eh!

Enough of my moaning about the state of the railways, have a look at Daniel Heath's wallpaper and tell me what you think?

Welcome 2011 and all it has to offer

Hello everyone, and welcome to 2011 from Shibusa Interiors.

Over the past year we went through so many changes that sometimes we didn't know where we were, and sometimes we didn't want to!

Well, we now have a lovely boutique style showroom that someone likened to Vivienne Westwood which pleased us immensely as we think she is awesome. Maybe you should all come and have a look?

It has been quite a year for change with new faces appearing in the business as well as the old favourites (well, me - Jen)

We are looking forward to the shows this year and finding new and exciting suppliers to work with, and new ideas to thrash around for projects.

We have worked very closely with property developers now and it seems we have got it right with the ones we are working with, and we hope to continue to do this.

Yesterday at the bank we were asked if we did the right thing regarding the showroom - the answer from us was yes, and the figures on the banks computer seemed to agree - which made us smile!

So, onwards and upwards, we hope to update our blog often but seem to get so busy we run out of time, don't think we forget about you all though, we send our love and best wishes to all of our followers new and old, and hope to see you all real soon
